Austin is one of the latest additions to our athlete roster as the US selected winner of our Be The Next Walero Athlete Competition. A hard working, but humble character, Austin has impressed those around him in double quick time throughout his junior career so far and we are delighted to have him represent the very best of junior grassroots racing in the USA.
Hailing from Frankfort, Ohio, Austin began his karting career in 2019 where he would rack up 43 wins and 14 championships across multiple junior series across the US, before making the jump up to single-seaters in 2021.
In 2021 as a rookie, Austin won a total of 10 Formula races and collected 21 podium finishes. His biggest accomplishment was the podium finish at the SCCA National Runoffs at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Here, he became the youngest driver to ever stand on the podium at the SCCA National Runoffs as well as the youngest to stand on the podium at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Alongside this, Austin also became the youngest driver to win a Formula Atlantic and a F2000 race with SCCA Pro Series FRP. Winning the Formula Atlantic Championship with SCCA Pro Series FRP also made him the youngest champion in the FRP Series history.
In 2022, Austin raced in SCCA Pro Series Formula Race Promotions in both the F2000 and Atlantic Championship series. He would take 6 of the 10 wins with 3 second places and a 3rd place finish to clinch the 2022 title in the Formula Atlantic championship. In the F2000 series he took 2 wins and only finished off the podium 5 times in 2022 to repeat as the series Vice Champion. In the SCCA series he raced in the FX and Formula Atlantic races. At the Runoffs he finished 2nd in the FX class and 3rd in the Formula Atlantic class.
2023 would see Austin expanding his racing resume by adding the Spec MX5 car and a Trans Am series car in the XGT class, alongside continued single-seater competition in Formula Regionals with the F3. He would achieve his goal to win his 3rd SCCA Pro FRP Formula Atlantic Championship which he did in style with 6 Wins and a second place in 8 races.
For 2024, Austin continues to expand his junior career across multiple championships and we cannot wait to see what he achieves as he looks to pursue his dream of racing in top-level competition across the USA.
